How do you fix stuck lines on an LCD computer monitor?

  • I have a 19 inch LCD monitor that has pink, cyan, and yellow lines going vertically down the monitor. there are so far 6 lines.

I would like to first state that you DEFINATELY dont' have a broken video card. the odds of your video card being broken are so slim because it is protected by the laptops internal interior. But it does sound liike he computer monitor is having issues. There is something called a fuser that helps make the minotor work. This fuser can be replaced for as little as 20 dollars. when the fuser is messed up it causes lines. But if the fuser isn't the problem, you will then have to get the entire monitor replaced. And for the price that it woudl cost, you can just buy a new one unless you have insurance.

sounds like a broken video card. Check computer with another monitor. It it looks OK then the pink, cyan, and yellow is from a broken monitor. a broken video card will give all kinds of weird lines and dots, etc. Check computer with another video card.

There is no way to fix an LCD monitor. They are a sealed unit.

You're boned. You could try to get it fixed, but most likely that won't be worth the money.
