How do I increase my graphics card resolution?

How to increase Computer's resolution?

  • I receontly bought a 24" Computer monitor, and it says that the ideao resolution is 1920x1080. I have Windows XP on my computer, and when I try to change the resolution, the max it goes to is 1400x1050. Therefore, I need to know how I can increase this. Is there a way to without purchasing anything? Or would I need to upgrade to Windows 7 or just get a better graphics card? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advanced.

    You need a better graphics card. Suggest one that has DVI interface - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Visual_Interface If you have a DVI interface on your current computer, try using it with your new monitor. Makes a world of difference.

You need to know what kind of monitor you have. There is usually a series of buttons and one of them are for screen resolution or just check the booklet to your computer and it will say what you can do about it.
