Recording XBOX 360 from PC monitor.

Can i have an Xbox 360 and a PC hooked up to one PC monitor?

  • I am getting a new pc therefore i need a new monitor, there is no roon on my desk for two monitors so i was looking at this monitor http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/lg-e2351vr-bn-23-full-hd-led-backlit-monitor-11255566-pdt.html i was wondering can i have my xbox 360 and my pc hooked up at the same time and how can i switch between the inputs.     Yes you can do that. Every monitor now days have multi inputs, and there is always a input button that cycles through the inputs. So as long as you get one with the 2 inputs you are using (most likely dvi for computer and hdmi for 360). Just remember, if you are using hdmi for the xbox360, the hdmi is also carrying the audio, so if you get a monitor, it will need to have speakers. Unless you are connecting your xboxs hdmi into an AV receiver first and using the hdmi out to go to the monitor.

You can get a switch for it. I'm not sure how much an hdmi switch would run you, but there is something out there for you so you can do that. I could google it, but I'm lazy, and apparently you are too for not googling it yourself.

Better yet, just get a good TV. You can hook up your computer to that TV, AND your Xbox as well. Not only that, but it serves the purpose of being a TV, so it would be much better to go that route.

Some monitors can select input port manually from the front panel. Others can be set with a priority, so DVI first, then VGA second if DVI is off... (or HDMI vs DVI, etc...) You have to research for a specific model that does either of these...
