Who uses 10 computer monitors in Windows XP?
-
I am reading up on Installing, Configuring, and Maintaining Windows XP. I never knew Windows XP supports up to 10 monitors - WOW Does anyone even use 10 monitors. I've seen people use 2 monitors, maybe 4, but 10? That's something else!!!

Answer:
Samsung make a model which is 6 monitors, all in one unit. This is useful for certain things, I can get 256 monitors in Linux (virtual at least but I think I can get that many physically, but linux can be spread over 4096 CPUs as well) For example you may see videos of people working in stock exchanges, then tend to have at least 5 screens usually many more. Also if you running a factory or data centre you would need to be able to observe large amounts information at once, in the form of graphs, and numbers in large fonts.

Windows XP supports unlimited monitors, its the graphics card and physical capability from your RAM and CPU to display across the screens, i have 6 screen eyefinity on windows 7 and it uses about 2GB ram idle to display windows aero across all 6 at 1080P each monitor. If you want to display on 10 display then your going to need a big wallet :)

Yeah I use up to 8. But stock brokers, game developers, and software developers are the use that use up to 10 monitors. And I know what your thinking. One Guy, monitoring 10 screens(that's crazy). will Developers work in teams of 5 or more.

They used them for video displays in stores & presentations, etc. ~ Your time would be better spent reading up on more current technology. Like Windows 7.
