Help with TV show, please help?

Computer display will not show up on TV please HELP!!?

  • I have an Acer Aspire 6930 with Windows Vista. I am trying to connected it to my TV. It is an Insignia 22 inch LCD 1080P TV. I am using a VGA cord (I think thats what its called) to connect it but neither the TV or laptop is picking the cord up. I know I have it connected in the right place. What do i do?

  • Answer:

You need to press the appropriate Fn key to switch the display from the laptop to the TV. I think it might be Fn+F6. EDIT - Sound won't go through the VGA cable. Depending if you've got a 5.1 or just a stereo setup then you'll need between 1 3.5mm stereo male to male jack lead, or 3 3.5mm stereo male to male jack leads. You then need to configure in Sound options in Vista the setup you require, and use the line-in, mic, and headphone sockets on your lappie (it will tell you which one does what) and then plug the other end of each lead in to the appropriate socket on your TV.
