"No Signal" with DVI to VGA adapter.

Which is better, a dvi to vga adapter or dvi to hdmi adapter going from a pc to a 1080p lcd tv?

  • which is better... to use a dvi to vga adapter or dvi to hdmi adapter going from a pc to a 1080p lcd tv? I cant really tell the difference except using the hdmi cable the display goes off the screen and requires tweaking at the same resolution as the dvi to vga (1920X1080). When using the dvi to vga adapter the vga input settings on the tv auto adjusts to fit the screen. If i tweak the hdmi enough can it eventually be better than the vga? Im using a 32" lg scarlet and 9800 gtx+ video card.

  • Answer:

It depends on the TV. Your particular HDTV seems to work better with an analog VGA signal. I have worked with several HDTVs, and certain ones suck with VGA but works splendidly with HDMI, like the Sharp HDTVs. My Sony Bravia also works better using HDMI than VGA. Just use whichever one works better with your particular TV.
