Answer:
Nothing the power options you have setup is setup to turn off you monitor after a certain time. It can be disabled by going to the Control Panel - Power Options - In the Drop Down Menu under Settings for Home/Office Desk power scheme and Turn off monitor: press on the Drop Down Box and go to Never then clicking on OK and this will stop it from powering down your monitor after a set time :)

Check whether the monitor cable is attached properly And tightly. If it don;t work then unplug the monitor cable and power on it. Check in the manual that what happens if the cable is not connected to a pc and see that is happing or not like some monitors show 'no sognal' error. If the moniotr os not showing such thing the monitor is faulty. Well the above is very unlikely the another problem may be that their may be some problem in the cpu. If the monitor is ok then look whether the hard disk light(red one) continue to glow infinetly. if it does then something is wrong with the cpu.

This is a power saving mode built into windows. If you go from the start menu to control panel. Once in the control panel you will look for the "power options", note you may have to switch to classic view to see the option. Once there you can choose how long you want you computer to wait until it shuts the monitor off, turns the hard disk off, or turns the computer to standby. I hope this answered your question.

either you or somebody accidently adjusted the sleep timer to near zero or you will need to dump that system and get a new one. i would dump it and get much discounted price from tiger direct with a one-year extended warranty. a big poweful dual core system with 2 gigs of memory and complete top-notch removal discs, plus an mp3 connector on the front and two dvd burners including one for dual layer rw. get at least a 21-inch 1000:1 plasma screen and upgraded speakers. don't take the first offer. wheel and deal. check other sources if tiger isn't in a good dealing mood that day.
