My computer turns on but nothing shows up on my screen?
-
I built my self a computer and well everything was working perfectly fine but just recently i decided i was going to clean my computer up and do some more cable management because it really did look messy before. Once i was all done i went to plug the computer in and play a game but nothing came up on the screen and i have no idea what went wrong... Also recently i bought a new graphics card but im pretty sure that's not the problem. Specs: -Asus 990fx saber tooth motherboard -AMD FX-8150 processor -GTX580 graphics card -Antec 1000 power supply - Antec 1200 v3 case

Not really enough details to diagnose from here but make sure your cabling is attached completely. Does the monitor display anything? If it was a videocard problem the initial boot processes would detect a video card error during post and display the error on the screen with two short beeps. I need more details about what you see and what your doing. Also if its just a black screen with then it sounds like your motherboard or CPU is not attached properly. See if theres a reset button on your motherboard or try booting your computer from the button on the motherboard instead of your case. EDIT: With blank screen and no error displayed on the screen means that it cannot boot an initial POST test meaning the motherboard cannot contact the CPU and the BIOS chip. This means that its either the CPU or the Motherboard. If everything seems to be working in your case and the fans and lights are on etc the its obviously cabling issue. Check to see if your cabling is all attached correctly. I myself have done cabling managment only to have accidentally left a cable partially plugged in. re attach all cables that deal with video input and output to the mother and the 4-pin power connector to the CPU. Edit: also ignore the comment below about ram. If there was a problem with one of your memory modules POST would display a memory error on the screen.
