How do you connect your pc to your tv to watch I player or watch again tv ?

I have quite an old tv and pc, but how would you connect a tv to your pc so you can watch tv program via the pc ?
Answer:

the TV needs to have a connection to accept the input from the Laptop or PC, usually this will be either a VGA port, DVI or HDMI. If the TV is quite old it may have none of these in which case you are out of luck. It may have an SVGA input or the RGB sockets on the side and you can buy adaptors for the VGA out on the computer to the RGB inputs of the TV, sound though you need to run through the PC speakers unless using HDMI.
