How can you hook up TV and monitor to computer?

How can i hook my computer to my tv so i can use it as a monitor?

  • I have a sanyo tv with s-video jack on the back.I am using a compaq presario with windows xp. I don't see an s-video jack on the back of my computer. Is there a way I can get a cord that comes from where the screen goes an splits into an s-video jack or the three color jacks(red,yellow,white). Please Help.

    first if you dont have a svideo jack then no second if your computer has a svideo jack then you need a connector that converts svideo to composite (yellow jack, white and red jacks are for audio only.. your graphics wont send audio to tv) and you have to have the lastest drivers for your graphics card or you could buy a new video card at http://www.newegg.com/ oh by the way if you have a CRT tv (cathode ray tube) then the image will SUCK

if you want connect should use wire connect from computer to tv it should use 3 color yellow and red and white

Youd need a tv video card.

Yes, you'll need a VGA to S-Video convertor - unless your TV has DVI or VGA.

Linux OS

You need a tv/out video card, mine is ATI, go to ATI.COM, they have all the info. Most other configurations will not give you a satisfactory image.
