How can I turn around the image of a video?

Can an image on my video burn into screen if don't turn it off?

  • I have a picture on my PC screen I would like to leave on at all times. I have a 6 year old Dell video. Would that image burn into my screen if I leave it on at all times? I don't want to use a screen saver as my video has some issues with shutting down.

  • Answer:

If you have a CRT monitor you can get "burn in" from having a stationary image on all the time. If it is an LCD monitor you can also get what is called image retention which is the equivalent of burn in on a CRT. I understand that you do not want to use a screen saver but what about using standby or setting your power options to shut the monitor off after x ammount of time? Maybe if you could explain your video issues some one may be able to help you sort that out. Post a question with as much detail as you can about your video issue. Im sure someone would have an answer for you.. Good luck hope this helps

I've only seen that on older character terminals (vt or wyse terminals, etc). Never seen it happen on a modern computer screen. Besides, your monitor is already pretty old. It would probably die before this becomes and issue.
