How do i play my xbox 360 using my laptop as a monitor?

i just got an hdmi port and i plug it from the xbox right into my dell laptop, but i dont know how to change the monitor status to show the xbox

Its not possible to play it on your laptop because the laptop port is an outgoing hdmi port. You need a external monitor to play on a monitor.
