Computer Monitor Help?

My computer monitor keeps randomly shutting off! help!!?

  • This is so freaking annoying!!!! I can't get anything done! Ugh! Help please! Ok so my monitor just randomly goes black and I'm unable to do anything. Ill provide an example: I turn on my computer and I open Internet Explorer. I go to YouTube to try and upload a video. I'm a frequent video uploader and this is becoming extremely annoying seeing as I can't get anything done. I select my file and the iploading process begins. Halfway through it, or at any time at all, the monitor goes black and the button I push to turn on the monitor begins to blink from blue to no color in a rythmatic sequence. I can no longer do anything. The only (seemingly) way to remedy this is by powering off my PC and starting everything over again. Another instance is if I'm watching a video on YouTube, it will randomly cut out and if I have my speakers on, the sound will repeatedly skip. This only seems to happen when I'm using the computer. When my brothers or parents uses the computer, they say it never happens. Also, this happens quite a bit when I'm using sony vegas and camtasia studio. My hunch is that I'm somehow "overloading" the PC so the monitors only response to shut off. I usually run multiple things on my computer at once, so would that be it? Because I'm inferring from my parents experiences that they are only using one browser and its usually email or something idle or not using too much RAM or whatever. I think I am being pretty specific, but if I'm not, please ask me to elaborate more (if I can). Only serious answers here! I don't want an answer like "you're dumb" or "buy a mac" or something of the sort. I really appreciate all the help I can get! I would love someone to give me an answer to helpfully fix my computer. I can't get anything done(homework, uploading videos, etc.) By the way, I'm typing this on my phone, because I don't trust my computer to stay on long enough for me to type all this out. Anyway, ill shut up, I appreciate all help! Thanks guys :)
