Why is my monitor is turning off by itself?

Why is my PC monitor turning itself on and off?

• I turn on my computer and the monitor goes from on (green light) to off (no light). My computer is still on and running but for some reason my monitor automatically turns itself on and off. Sometimes I'll use the power button on the monitor but it only works for a little while or sometimes not at all. If I press Auto sometimes it'll work but again, not always. My screen turns black completely when it goes off. Its a Compaq pc. The monitor is flat and it says KDS USA in the corner. If anyone could help me that'd be great. I know some people might think its the video card but I don't watch videos and rarely play any games. Help me please.

  I suspect you have a faulty power button, I had that problem for a flat screenI bought in a pawm shop ,took it back and was refunded my money and gorm a bigger one cheaper? So try turnining it on / off from the moitor and prove the switch, as to wher you get it repaired?
