Why i am getting flickering in monitor?

  • My monitor is flickering .How to avoid this. Also when i keep the speakers/woofers near my monitor it is flickering. Also coloring changes unusually at some area of monitor. It is a new CRT monitor. How to avoid this?

  • Answer:

flickering - maybe your display card is set to 60Hz, try to set it to 70, 72 or 85hz .. if its a new monitor. the crt is electromagnetic sensitive, u need to move the woofer further away from the crt tube. the speakers could be magnetically shield, but still, having a block of magnet near the crt is not advisable remember, magnets and crt dun go well together ...

The speakers are interfering with your monitor - you can't avoid this. The flicker can be caused by the refresh rate. When you are looking at your resolution settings there should be an advanced button and then a monitor tab that allows you to change the refresh rate. It should include an option to show only rates supported by the monitor - if so, check it: going to high can cuase your monitor problems. If this option is not there look in your monitor manual to see what refresh rates are supported and set it to the highest setting your monitor supports - this will reduce the flicker issue.

Move the speakers away from the monitor, that flicker is caused by the electromagnetic field generated by the speaker coils. Then degauss the monitor, which is usually done by shutting the monitor off, then turning it back on.

You will want to update your video drivers or bring down the refreash rate on your computer. right click on the backround, click on properties, click the monitor tab, change your settings down and try it. As for the speakers unless they are shielded then keep them away from your monitor and tower. The magents can mess up the screen and hard drive. The color changing should go away when you move your speakers, if not the you need to degauss your monitor. To do this on the controls on your monitor you should go into the menu and look for a hourseshoe magnet. highlight that and press the ok on your monitor and the screen should jump and make a noise but clear up when done. Hope this helps.

if it flickers when your speakers/woofers are AWAY FROM IT, take it back...Todays technololgy should be close to flawless and pheriferals need to be compatible! Probably not the answer you would like to hear...but most answers here are getting too tech. I had a monitor which did the same thing. (changing colour is a worry), It was old and I upgraded and never had the problem again....and, you have to be able to just dump your speakers next to it!
