How can I set a screen resolution for an old computer screen? Or can I?
-
I have hooked a Dell tower up to a Compaq MV540 screen, an old screen. When the computer boots up, the resolution is set way too low, so I go to the Control panel, to adjust. I hit "apply" when I set to a higher setting, and the screen blinks, per expected. However, the resolution does not stay at the setting. Is there a reason, and is there something I can do, or should I just scrap the screen, and get a Dell compatible screen? Thank you, for helping.

Answer:
The Maximum resolution for your screen is 1024x768 which is pretty low by modern standards. If you can set it to that resolution, that is the best you will get, if you cannot set it to that resolution, make sure that your graphics card drivers are up to date
