How can I permanently set my screen resolution?

How can i set my screen resolution to 1440x900?

  • i've unplugged my 19-inch monitor (which displays best at 1440x900) and used a monitor with resolution 1024x768 for a while. when i plugged my previous monitor, the resolution did not revert from 1024x768 to 1440x900. there is no option in the drop down list as '1440x900'. i don't have a system restore point which has the correct resolution. so how could i revert it back to 1440x900?

What kind of cable are you using? If you are using a vga cable it will, sometimes, not list 1440x900. I have had this same issue with a couple of hansg monitors. If possible, connect it to your pc using a dvi or hdmi cable and try it again. The interesting thing is, once you have done this, the 1440x900 option will usually show back up again even if you go back to the vga cable. Hope this helps!
