Computer screen went fuzzy and is blinking?

Computer screen went crazy! please help!?

  • Ok, so I was just playing the game "The Sims 2" on my parent's computer and all of a sudden the picture got all weird and the computer froze. Like there were all these colors mixed together and i don't know...the screen just looked weird. So, I took out the game and turned off the computer and then turned it on again but the screen was still being weird! And it automatically turned off before it got to the main screen. Does anyone know why it's doing this?!?! My parents will be really mad if we have to buy another computer monitor for like the 3rd time. I'm freaking out. Please help!

This may not be the monitor itself. Check out the video card and also update your drivers for your computer, like the video card for example. There could be a corrupt registry or the game may not be very compatible with the system. Also, try reinstalling the operating system and start over. This way every thing is fresh. If no problems after that then its not the monitor but software issue or something else.

One simple problem could be that your processor overheated. This can cause all symptoms you have described. Leave you system off for a while allowing it to cool down and then boot up and see what happens.

You might not need a new computer at all! Just try a new monitor first. The same thing happens to my new xbox 360 all the time. The game you were playing might have a virus on it, too. I would suggest a new monitor first, though.

It could also be that the video card is overheated. You need to check the fans on the power supply, CPU heat sink, and video card to make sure they're all turning. It might be a good idea to blow out any dust as well.
