What is the best TV tuner card now on the market?

Is it cheaper to buy an LCD monitor with a TV tuner card then just buying a LCD TV?

  • So I'm in the market to buy an LCD TV but I just can't find a cheap good one. I was wondering if I should just buy a monitor and a TV tuner card. Do you think the cost will come down to be the same? What are some downfalls with the tuner card? Thanks. P.S. I am looking for a screen size between 26" to 32".

A 26" LCD monitor will cost you around $650, a good TV tuner card around $150-200. If you want a larger screen, you would probably get the TV cheaper, because a larger screen monitor would be a special order for most businesses. Don't know of any special problems with TV tuner cards, they've been around a while so most problems have been worked out.

I've had good luck with Vizio TVs in that size range. I don't think you're going to find a 32" computer monitor at a reasonable price. (And you aren't going to find a good HDTV tuner card yet. I've been looking.)
