TV and a monitor for a mac?

Broken monitor on laptop, wondering if there's a way to switch it to my mac or tv?

• Hey guys, I have this old windows vista laptop I used for more or less the last 3 years. The screen starting going on it maybe about 2 years ago (the colors would be all ****** up, if I moved the screen up and down a little sometimes it would start working ok), along with a host of other problems. But anyway, I bought a new mac this summer and things have been great so far. However, I was never able to figure out a way to move all of my old files from my computer to my mac. Recently I borrowed an external hard drive from my friend, but when I booted up my old windows I discovered that the screen is now completely dead. So now to my question (finally): Is there a way I can hook up my old windows laptop to either my mac or a tv so that when I boot it up the display will appear on one of those? Keep in mind I won't be able to adjust settings on my pc because I won't be able to see what I'm doing. Thank you!

  Simply all you need to do is connect to a monitor or TV with VGA (the old blue display plug), HDMI (the fancy new one piece display plug) or DVI (common white plug). If the picture doesn't appear, try pressing Windows key and P at the same time (the "Connect to external display output" feature). Hopefully it should work. Good luck.
