LCD screens use large quantities of the color blue when projecting images, it has something to do with balancing the colors out on an image. The blue light emitted from a screen is harsh on our eyes and will cause fatigue in your eyesight after extended periods of time. Avoid sitting in the dark while using your laptop as it only intensifies the effects of the bright light coming form the screen. If you cannot avoid sitting at the computer for the time you mentioned above on a regular basis then you should look into getting some gaming glasses. They look a little silly and some people don't see the point to them but for your situation they are an ideal solution. The lenses are tinted yellow, which helps mellow out the blue light that causes your eyes to hurt. It may not make the blurriness go away but it will slow the effects of fatigue on your eyesight. Just a heads up, the only gaming glasses I have seen recently are $80 a pair but i'm sure you can find a set for cheaper somewhere online.

Tallest Skil: What the hell are you saying??? Unless you are a doctor who examined that user, you are not able to say anything like that! Can it? Yes, it can, but LCD monitors are not as bright so they tend to be less damaging. Of course, most damage will be temporary unless you been in front of a computer everyday, 17h a day for 25 years! Even then, it depends on your eyes. Blue eyes are more prone to fatigue, but it's not direct damage. One thing you must understand, the action of not doing anything (or inaction!) is much much worse. Not being in good shape, not moving a lot and staying in the same sitting position all day long can and will cause serious problems. I strongly consider balancing your activities...try to take a break every now and then and do something a little bit more challenging physically. Good luck!

It really won't damage your eyes, but it will make them strain harder than they have to. You may sometimes get headaches that just won't go away plus the blurriness you mentioned. If you're going to be online that much, take a 30 minute break every few hours. That'll help ease the strain.

Yes it can. ive been staring at a computer screen for about 14 years (not constantly of course. but general use) and my eye sight has decreased. i know have to wear glasses as i now suffer from Short Distance Vision.

You have an addiction. Get counseling. And then LASIC, apparently, as you've ruined your eyes.
