How do I connect my PS3 to my PC monitor correctly?

  • Hello and good morning, I've had a little bit of trouble connecting my PS3 Slim to my LG L204WT LCD Monitor. The audio is working fine when I connected the components to a 3.5mm jack, the problem is the video is not showing up correctly. When I turn on the monitor, it says "check signal cable." I have the PS3 connecting to the monitor via HDMI to a HDMI to DVI-D adaptor. These cables are working perfectly as I have tested it on another monitor. The PS3 video output is set to HDMI at 720p because I have unchecked 1080i and 1080p, and the monitor has HDCP with a resolution of 1680 x 1050, so 720p will fit fine, so I'm not sure where the problem is. I know for a fact it should work as other have stated they have their PS3s working on this monitor.
