Answer:
for that you need to buy a splitter and before that check the end part of ur Hd tv to check whether it supports HDMI output, VGA output or DVI output as they the most commonly used onez for this splitting thing..... check ur TV output and go to a store that sells stuff like this and tell them ur situation like u got this type of tv with this output and u tell u wanna make two utputs outtta ur pc.... then take advice on the thing and understand the thing well on fitting purposes and thinkgs like that...... get the thing and enjoy ur HDTV for ut PC and ur X-box 360 even.... hope it helps....**** Please rank it the best answer for me cause i knw it is the best answer to ur ques.....****Thankxxx a Million****

If you have a desktop PC, you need to buy a video card that supports whatever connector your TV has like HDMI or DVI. I suggest HDMI or DVI because they give you better video quality. You can also use the VGA port on the video card but the quality is less. BTW this video card is a second video card in addition to the one you already have on your desktop PC. If your have a laptop you don't need to buy anything. A laptop usually has an external VGA connector which you can use for an external monitor or TV. Most HD TVs have VGA input.

Yea, you should be able to connect it up via the vga socket on the back of the telly also you gfx card needs to support multi output. BrainMaestro your answer is incorrect, getting a splitter will just display the same image on both the monitor and the tv!! Which would be pointless and not what the question is about.

You need to state the video card or setup you have. I have an Nvidia card that has an S-Video out port on it. All I had to do was plug an S-Video cable from that port to my TV and it worked. In the Nvidia control panel it gives options for how to use the setup (you can have it clone whatever is on your monitor, or have it as two halves of the same desktop) I use it to play videos on the TV while I still have the desktop on my monitor.
