How can I monitor another computer?

How can I connect a computer to another, distant monitor?

  • Our office has a computer network, and there is a large monitor that is locally connected to a nearby computer. However, we would like to connect the monitor to another computer in the office, about 30 yards away from the large monitor. Is there away to do this without a long VGA cable? Can the distant (ie remote) computer connect to the large monitor through a network connection to the nearby (ie physically connected to monitor) computer? Any suggestions? Thanks

Check out this company, they should have what you're looking for. www.blackbox.com This may be what you're looking for... http://www.blackbox.com/Catalog/Detail.aspx?cid=308,1558,1562&mid=4296 You could also do it wirelessly http://www.blackbox.com/Catalog/Detail.aspx?cid=1578,1585&mid=5185 You could use remote desktop but that would require you to use two computers instead of one. This way, you save on the hardware and power costs of a second computer (not to mention the space savings).

no there is no way to do this. the best you'll get is if the computer near the monitor acesses the other computer files and such. but you won't have them both on it, only the one close to it.
