Why is my screen resolution so big and words so small?

My computer doesn't work right with games and resolution settings?

• ok, so when i go to the desktop and left click on the back ground and open up properties, on that menu i adjust my resolution settings, but i have to max out the resolution when i put the resolution below 1600X800(i think thats it) it just puts the screen into a little box in the middle of the screen that is the size of the resolution if that makes sence. when i play games it does it all the time because like for the HALO TRIAL game the max resolution is like 800X600 and that makes the game play in a little box in the middle of my screen but when i played this game on another computer it goes full screen, so in other words when i try to play a game that is supposed to be full screen i have to turn the resolution all the way up to 1600X800 but most games dont go that high, not to mention when i increase the resolution it is more demanding on my computer. so my basic question is how do i make the full screen games full screen? is it like my drivers or something? my computer runs XP SP 3 its kinda old but i dont think that should matter. BTW i did try to update my drivers and it said that there are no new drivers available.

  Search your computers make and model on the internet, that drive update never works well. Once you find it navigate to the default drivers provided on the site of your computers manufacturer. Download the graphic drivers, and install them, overwrite the old ones if it asks. Try this, and tell me if it works, if it doesn't we will try something else.
