Why can't I set my monitor to a higher resolution?

Monitor resolution problem - need help?

  • Window vista 32 bit- my Monitor is currently set at 1280x 1024 but I keep getting a notice that I should set my resolution to 1400 x (cant remember) I was having major issues with resolution - it was very very low and wouldn't allow me to change it. I updated the video driver and its better - but not perfect. I can not seem to change the resolution to what is recommended - the next option is 1600 x 1200 - which doesn't work for this monitor. Any suggestions on what to do? Thanks for the assistance

  • Answer:

Depending on what your graphics card is..... theres places you can access your video options through your video card itself vs doing so in windows ... your going ot have to find out were to acess those options at and you should be able to set it to exactly were you need to and then the same will accur in the windows settings
