What is the proper way to clean a LCD moniter screen? I'm assuming not with Windex.?

NO NO NO!!!!! never use anything that has chemicals to clean your LCD screen, use some PLASMA CLEANER. OFFICEMAX has a good Plasma Cleaner 100% natural no chemicals and stuff, and it's cheap...If you don't want to go down the store, use a clean soft towel with a water sprayer and gently clean the screen, don't soak the screen.

Ive used hygiene wipes (diaper butt wipes). I use the ones specifically made for women hygiene. They are really mild and don't leave any residue. Or just try a damp paper towel using a good quality (soft) brand. Don't use the cheap towels, they are too abrasive.

You are right, don't use windex. Windex contains ammonia, which over time may damage the film covering the screen. Windex is for cleaning glass only, and LCD screens have a polarizer (film) covering the glass - so don't use it. Also, don't use paper towels, they are too harsh and can scratch the screen. You can use windex. Just spray it on a paper towel NOT the monitor.

Just wipe it gently with a damped clean cloth and let it dry.

Ask the manufacturer of your monitor, they will tell you what to use, or an easier way is to check the monitors manual, Windex may remove the antiglare coating, don't use it.
