Help

get it repaired, or you can get a new one, but make sure the repair dude says its fixable b4 he starts, or else u may get cheated. get a price range, and state the problem so it can be a through price.

Don't Ask

Hit F8 when the laptop is booting up to start Windows in safe mode. You should then be able to change the display settings to suit your monitor.

on laptops there is a function key on the top (has a picture of a screen on) that when you press with the fn key (normally bottom left of keyboard) at same time, should switch the monitor port on.

Most laptops have a key that lets you send the video signal out the back, called a function key. On my HP laptop the function key is blue and the F5 key has a blue symbol on it that is supposed to look like a monitor. When I want the signal to go out the VGA connector on the back of the laptop, I hold down the "fn" or function key, the click the F5 key once.
