What's the best monitor for Xbox360 and PC?

I have a full HD Monitor but it wont play sound from my PC?

  • Hi, the monitor works perfect on Xbox360, plays volume, but on my pc.. it just wont play any sound? i googled it, found out i had to go to Play back Devices and set my HD monitor to Default or somethin, then my volume worked through my monitor!! but it seems to keep cutting off? and i cant get it to work again, for example.. when i do somethin thats making a noise, the green bar on the volume bar will move up n down to say theres volume playing, but i dont hear any, whats causing this? i cant remember, but i think it stopped workin when i was on a game on my pc.. idk x.x

  • Answer:

Is your monitor connected to your computer through a white DVI cable or an HDMI cable? Both will give you an HD picture, but usually only HDMI can carry an audio signal to the monitor. There are some graphics cards that output audio over DVI, though. Maybe the PC game you think messed it up changed some audio settings temporarily for the game to run, and it was closed out without having the chance to revert them? In my opinion the speakers on monitors are always really crappy, so I'd recommend getting external speakers, maybe even surround sound if you're gaming.
