Is there a way to connect to cable tv through my pc?

I connect my s-video cable from my pc to my tv. I need to know why I get a black and white screen on the tv?

  • I need to know the complete procedure to connect from pc to tv using my s-video cable. I tried but all I keep having is a black screen on the tv. Please show me how to do it in a proper way so I can use my pc and my tv without problems. Thank you.

  • Answer:

    1. connect the cables securely 2. right-click on desktop -> properties -> settings tab 3. If your graphics card supports multiple monitors, you can click on the second monitor symbol (which is going to be your tv) 4. check the box that says "extend my windows desktop onto this monitor" 5. click on OK or Apply You should be all set, and see your desktop on the tv as long as you are in s-video mode. A few times when trying to play video, it has not worked properly. If that happens, i just simply stopped the video, closed the player, and retried it and it worked fine. Hope it helps.

If connecting a PC, make sure that you switch the display settings to allow the video to be sent out of the s-video port.

Most likely you just need to switch your tv to the right input. Example from my tv--cable is input 3, xbox is 1, and s-video is front 1. Just also keep in mind when using s-video you also need to use your pc speakers for sound

control panel--display properties--advanced click on monitor 2
