How to Sharpen Monitor Image?

Frustrated with dual monitor problem - monitor 2 image quality poor?

  • I just set up a new dual monitor setup on my computer. Everything appears to be working properly, except late last night, I noticed the image quality on monitor 2 is a bit low. Both monitors are running the same profile, on identical monitors, so I'm not sure why this would be an issue. I've updated the video drivers, and it's a brand new video card (Radeon HD 3850) - it's actually *built* for two monitors, so I don't understand what the problem is. My computer us running: Gigabyte S-Series Mobo Radeon HD 3850 Video card (512mb) AMD Phenom 9950 quad core, 2.61GHz 8gb ram total of 750gb hdd space (500+250) The monitors are dual Hanns-G 19" widescreens. The image on the right monitor isn't clear, the text is very bit-mappy, and almost unreadable. Pictures are only mildly affected by this, but it makes type almost impossible to read. I set up a monitor profile to make sure that both monitors were running with exactly the same options selected, and it didn't seem to help. Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks in advance!

It sounds very much like a software issue, but you can switch the monitors and show the same image to be sure. My guess is that the display properties are not identical. There's more to it than monitor profiles you know.

Hmm...thats a weird one. Usual culprits for a blurry image: Faulty lead, lead not incorrectly (this would be the video cables going to the monitor now), the screen is defective, the grahpics card is defective, resolution on other screen is not correct. Try a different lead, or use the one from the first monitor which you said was working properly. Make sure that the connection is firm. It would be a faulty lead if the problem was here you can also try swapping the monitors, so the first one is on the other side and see if there is any difference noticed. If the first monitor were to become blurry, then its either faulty lead or defective graphics card. If the second screen stays the same then the screen is defective Good luck trying to cure it.
