How can I hook my TV up to my computer so that I can sort of use it has a computer screen?

I think the TV out socket on mine is called s-video. you plug in to that and then phonos plug in your TV.If there are no phono in sockets on your TV - you can get a converter. That converts the Scart socket to phono. The link below - gives you a picture that helps explain it better. I'll give you a link to my website too. I deserve top answer and a new visitor to my website - it took ages to find a picture of how you do that hook up! lol Incidentally, I know someone who has one window on his monitor and another on his wide screen TV - no idea how it's done - but sounds cool!

if you by a lead from pc world etc. you can connect your laptop to tv by using a vga connection lead!!!!

you need a speical socket in the back of the tv. New plasmas have the socket.

Dont bother. Unless you have a HDTV, the Best TV resolution is useless compared to even a reasonable monitor. text is all but unreadable

If you have a flat screen tv like the new ones you can just hook the cable from your computer to your tv... but if you don't you may need something called tv decoder, you can get it at Wal-mart, Best Buy or Target... Bye!

you could always get a £20 graphics card with a tv out. that would make sence before you splash out thousands on plasmas and stuff.

If you have a video card with TV out, it's pretty simple: buy or make yourself a cable with the apropriate connectors: an RCA os S-video (depending on which connector your video card has) for the video out of your video card, and a RCA or SCART (depending on which connector your TV has) for the video imput on your TV set. If you want to have the sound delivered to your TV set too, use another cable from the line output of your sound card to the audio input of your TV. Connect the cables, turn on your TV, put it on "Video" mode, turn on your computer and configure (if necesary) the TV out from "Display properties". That would be all. Your TV sould look and act as a computer monitor now. If you don't have a video card with TV out, your only chance to see connect your TV to the computer is having a VGA connector on your TV. In that case, use an VGA cable (and also the sound cable if you want the sound too).
