Why is the side of my computer screen gray?

Computer screen flipped on its side.?

  • My aunt was using her computer and she said the screen turned on its side counterclockwise. She wanted me to ask why it did this or how to fix it. Basically the windows taskbar is now parallel to the right side of the computer screen. She said she was just filing some form on the internet and wasn't doing any modifications to anything on the computer.

  • Answer:

It depends on what version of windows and what graphics card you have but try the following: CTRL-ALT-Up (for intel-based cards) CTRL-SHIFT-R (if ctrl-alt-up doesn't work) Or In windows vista/7 right click on the desktop and select "Screen Resolution" Under "Orientation" select "Landscape" Or If none of the above works... If you have an Nvidia card - open Nvidia control panel (usually in start menu under control panel) and set the "Rotate display" setting to "Landscape" You can do the same for ATI cards and Intel cards through the respective graphics control programs.

If it's only the taskbar that has moved, you can click and drag it back to the bottom.
