Which monitor is better for graphic design?

Graphic Design / computer monitor question... monitor question...?

  • I know Apple makes a superior LCD monitor for their desktop computers, but does anyone know of any alternatives to it that offer the same or comparable quality and color accuracy/view angle, etc. as the Apple monitor but is less expensive? Thanks.

  • Answer:

actually, there are devices out there that help calibrate your monitor (i think any monitor). I've never used one, but a representative from a printer that my company uses said that there is a device you place against your monitor screen, and it helps calibrate the colors on your monitor. i forget the manufacturer, but maybe pantone makes one? or adobe?

If there were less expensive options that were just as good, Apple wouldn't sell many monitors, would they?

Hey! get a viewsonic or a large LCD with a high contrast ratio like 400:1 and dot pitch be less than .25mm! smaller the better! finer detail! i edit photographs! so i use a .25mm pitch! im planning to upgrade soon! www.newegg.com they have some really great deals! get something with a glossy screen! i know it reflects! but the colors are amazing.
