Why is there no sound coming from my monitor?

Im using my TV as a monitor but no sound is coming through it?

  • ive hooked up my pc to a normal monitor before and the monitor had built iin speakers and sound came through the speakers. so using the same cable i plugged my pc into my TV, but no sound is coming through my TV. my TV sound works as on YPbr and AV or w/e my TV has sound. but for my PC theres nothing? how can i change this, i really want to have sound coming through my TV?

    you need to get a 3.5mm to 3.5mm jack lead to plug into audio input on monitor from audio out from computer, the problem you are having is it is a vga connection and vga does not carry sound. more modern pc's and laptops use a hdmi out which carries both sound and visual

is there an audio cable between the PC and the TV? If not then it will not have sound! Your YPBR and AV all have audio in one of the cables, so does HDMI if your PC has an output socket and the TV has an input. VGA and DVI are video only, there is no incorporated audio signal in either of these connections. To get sound you need to find out what audio in socket the TV has, the PC has a 3.5mm jack plug and get a cable to match, then connect the cables and you will have sound on the TV.

if the tv is connected to the pc with a standard vga cable or a dvi cable there will not be any sound from it unless it has a 3.5mm jack plug on it for sound, if it does you need a cable with a 3.5mm plug on either end, it plugs into the tv and the green plug on the pc. if you are using an hdmi cable for the tv the sound should work

sounds to me your using a VGA cable to your TV which dont provide sound, You need get external speakers and with the jack audio connector plug them into your audio port on your tower in the back of the computer, if you turn it around you should see a 3.5mm port it be green and it will provide you with sound

The sound will only come through your TV if it is connected with HDMI wire through our computer if you got one hdmi port. if you dont have HDMI port thn get male to male wire that plug in to the computer sound out jack and in the sound in jack of the tv.
