How do I switch between two monitors?

Is there a way to switch a dual monitor set-up between two computers?

  • I have two monitors and two computers with one set up mouse/keyboard/speakers. I have a switch to be able to use one monitor/mouse/keyboard/speaker on both computers, but I was wondering if there was a splitter of some sort so I can have both monitors hooked into the switch, so I can use the dual monitors on both computers instead of just one. Is there something like that out there or is this just not possible? Both monitors are VGA, one computer is a Mac and the other Windows 7.

  • Answer:

I'm nor sure you can to do to dual display, but you can use a "kvm" switch for using one keyboard, mouse and monitor. If you were happy to have dual display on only one pc and only single diplay on the other, you should theoretically be able to, by having the kvm plugged into one of your dual display outputs and the other monitor pluigged in directly. I could be wrong edit* sorry, re read your initial post and saw you know about kvm switches. anyway, i just googled dual monitor kvm swich and they are available. so that''ll be what you need
