Is there a Rca to VGA cord?

VGA to S-Video, I NEED HELP!?

  • I just bought a VGA to TV S-Video + RCA out cable on Amazon.com, click on link below. http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d65/Hermoso_Mariposa/31vXSJqpcyL__SS500_.jpg My whole intentions were to use my big screen RCA TV as a monitor but my desktop that Im hooking it up to does not have S-video only a VGA. That is why I bought this cable I hooked the VGA end to my 'monitor' port and then hooked a S-video cord to the end of the s-video plug on the cord I bought, and I turned my tv on to Video 1 and all I saw was static...I tryed to mess with the cords and even restart my computer but the picture will not show? Am I doing something wrong? If so can you please write down step by step what I need to hook up to each of those cables on the cord I purchased? I would really appreciate it!!

Haven't messed with that type of conversion, but if you are getting static then you are not getting any type of signal that a computer would send out. Are you sure that the S-Video on your TV is linked to your Video 1...cause on my old tv there was a selection specifically for S-video. Try all your other auxillary channels. Its an analog signal going to an analog connection so it should work. Just gotta set it right. Also try changing the resolution on your computer to 640x480. This would be more compatible with older TVs. I would say go lower but I don't think you can even get that low any more..lol
