My computer turns on but nothing is on screen?

  • Lately my computer broke down, when i was loading up a game all of a sudden it turned off, i tried turning it back on but it wouldn't go on. It was confirmed that the power supply wasn't working. Until then we took it back to the shop we brought it from at 2004 so it should an old model by now. They called back saying they couldn't fix it. It gave us the technical report which said: power supply faulty, ram also faulty. VGA cannot be diagnosed as it is an AGP card and since its an old model they don't have a spare AGP to test with. So we took it to another repair shop near by, we got the power supply fixed and tested if it could still work. The computer turns on, it was all good but nothing comes up on the screen, its just completely black saying "no signal" what could be the problem? I'm guessing it could be the mother board, or my video/graphic card. or is there other problems? The keyboard doesnt even turn on.

If in display it is showing no display then there is no problem with your monitor.problem is in your motherboard. Check your ram first. If its ok there check your motherboard.

It could be one of many problems now. =>No signal <= means the computers not working. (Some, think it's to do with the monitor itself, is why I said that) (The keyboard doesn't turn on because the computer's not working) Power supply fixed? I hope that's your way of saying -replaced. It isn't worth it to try and fix a Psu. Also, I would be leery of a computer shop that said they did. AGP graphics card? You'll hear this many times, but you would be infinitely happier, if you just bought a motherboard that uses a PCI Express x16 slot for a graphics card.
