What's a good PC monitor?

Whats the benefit of having a big monitor for PC?

  • I'm building a gaming pc and I want to know what the benefit of having a 24 or 27" monitor has over a 21.5". My graphics card is 1 x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 590

  • Answer:

Not really any benefits at all, just preference. It really depends on the resolution you want to play at. 1080p is what you will get with a 24 inch monitor. 27inch monitors are also mostly 1080p. So if you buy a 27inch 1080p monitor you wont be seeing anymore of a picture then you would if you were using a 24inch 1080p monitor. Although there are higher resolutions that 27inch monitors can do, like 2560x1440. But you have to buy a monitor that is capable of running that resolution. 2560x1440 vs 1920x1080 is about 1.6 million pixel difference. So going with a 27inch monitor that is capable of doing 2560x1440 will allow you to see more on the screen than a 1080p monitor. You will be seeing a additional 1.6 million pixels, if you go with a 27 inch 2560x1440 monitor. Compared to a 24inch 1920x1080p monitor. Also keep in mind that the higher the resolution you play games at, the more demanding the graphics will be on your video card. But I don't think you will have any sort of problem because you will be using a GTX 590.
