How do you clear everything off a Mac as if it were new?

How do I clean everything off of a mac?!?!?!?

  Ok, do you mean blank the Hard drive or do you mean physically wash it? Either way I need to know which mac you have and if you mean hard drive which OS you're running. EDIT: Ok great, first you need to get a bootable OS 10.2.8 disc (if you bought the computer new it came with bootable discs, if not you may need to find a mac expert nearby who will loan you a set or go to and apple dealer and buy a set of install discs). Start the machine with the OS discs by restarting while holding down the 'c' key. It is normal for the computer to take longer to startup from a CD or DVD. The disc will automatically start the OS X installer. Select a language and click the right arrow button to proceed to the next screen. If you want to install an OS (if you want the machine to be usable afterwards) follow the installation procedure choosing the 'erase and install' option when it's presented, this will blank the hard drive and install a fresh version of OS 10.2 (probably 10.2.3). Something important to note here is that while this option does erase the drive it doesn't make the data unrecoverable, so if you want a secure erasure use the next procedure first before you run the installer: Select Open Disk Utility from the Installer menu. Select the name of the hard drive (e.g. Macintosh HD) on the left side of the window and click the Erase Select the volume format from the Volume Format pop-up menu. Click Options. Select the checkbox for "Zero all data". Click OK. Click Erase. (this will take some time so be patient) After this you can run the installer as I described above. cheers.
