Why does my computer screen turn either green or pink?

Why does my computer screen turn green?

  • I have to move it back and forth. I have to move the screen all the way back and try to put it back on my desk while holding the screen upright and trying to put the stand back in position. My screen turns like static on the TV when the recption is not good and you have to move the antenna. What can I do to fix this? Thank You.

    There are two things that are possible: A. your monitor cable has a broken wire (find a friend who will let you borrow a monitor, see if picture works now) B. your video card is screwed up (if the image still doesn't work it is your video card [probably], go to your local computer shop and get a new one)

The video card output will often "go green" when it's nearly the end of it's life. You can pick up a new plug and play video card most anywhere from $25 and up. I would suggest TigerDirect personally. http://www.tigerdirect.com/
