How do I enable display in control panel?

I cannot set my display to 800X600 or higher, no option shows up in control panel/display settings/resolution?

  • So what do i do? how do i get this option in control panel to select 800X600 resolution or higher? Do i need drivers? It's an EMC monitor.

    This has NOTHING to do with the monitor. If you "..cannot set my display to 800X600 or higher.." then you are locked in 'safe mode' resolution of 640 x 480. Even the 'standard vga monitor' driver will let you push it to 800 x 600 with the corect video card driver installed. You will need the CD that came with your video card. put it in and install the drivers again.

It appears that your display card doesnt support this resolution. You might wanna check it with the card's manual. If thats the case, you may have to upgrade it.

You will have to install the drivers/video card softwars. My guess is that Its not the monitor that is having the problem. Update the video card drivers and see if that helps.

hi im sure there is some conflicts in video drivers so check in device manager if u find any yello exclamation mark uninstall it and reinstall the vdieo driver from cd .there is no problem with your monitor.

Ok, if you have a radeon driver, type 'Radeon Calypso' and try to download it. Be sure to download it from the official site. If you dont know what video card you have,press start/run/ and type in 'dxdiag'. Should tell you everything you need to know. If it's a different brand than Radeon, search for it online.
