Why does my monitor keep turning off?

Why does my monitor keep turning off?

  • When I'm on my computer, sometimes the monitor turns off by itself. When I press the on button twice, it turns on again. It doesn't turn on again if I only press it once, it only turns on if I press it twice. This only happens about once or twice a day though. What could be wrong with my computer?

  • Answer:

Your computer most likely has power saving turned on which will turn different devices off to save power, which personally i hate, so i turned my power saving settings to allow it to stay on. To do this all you need to do is go into Control panel and in the search bar type in power saving. Another way is just look for the icon the says power saving. The last way is to simply right click on the desktop and click on personalize then go to screen saver settings and you will see it says power management and below it it will say (in Blue) change power settings. Click on this and select high Performance.

Other answers

not 100% sure but it could be your power saving settings, Windows will automatically switch the monitor off if the pc is not being used for a certain time. Go to the Control Panel and look for an icon called "Power Management" and look to see if that is what is causing the problem. If not it could be a hardware problem with the monitor itself.
