How do I connect my computer to a TV?

HELP! 10 points!! how do i connect my lap top to my tv so i can watch videos from my computer on my tv screen?

  • i have a dell and i hooked up a S-video cable and connected it to my tv. how do i get the videos on my computer to show up on my tv screen? i tried to do it like i would if i was watching a dvd, but nothing came up. so i obviously did something wrong. is there something i have to do to download or connect the comp to the tv? Can i watch youtube videos this way, or can i only watch downloaded videos? please help, i know very very little about computers, cables, and how to connect everything. PLEASE HELP ! Thank you so much for your time and help!

    go to control panel click appearance and themes click on display icon click on settings tab click on advanced from there you should be able to find an option that lets you turn on use your tv as the output

Try going into the video card settings and see if there is something about turning S-video on or off.

theres a lead you can buy like a scart runs from you laptop to the tv, theres a red yellow and white lead on on side and a screw in plug at the other you can buy them at all computer store. once youve connected it can the channel to audio visual (AV) and that should be it.....10 points please :)

Right click on your desktop and select properties. Choose the settings tab. Click on the #2 screen that should be greyed out then select Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor. Apply and you can now drag things onto it by moving your mouse to the right. Just drag your movie players to that screen and hit full screen for a good show. same goes for youtube videos.

Oh!! i think i can help u, after connecting the S - video cable go to control panel and check whether u have intel graphics driver, and open that. A dialog box opens up and has 2 options, single display and multiple display. Check multiple display and click on apply. Now the desktop of your windows now appears on ur tv as well. Now u can watch videos and do anything u want in a bigger screen.

Go to the Display Settings and it will show a screen to configure the monitor/screen arrangement. The TV is probably set as 2 and the computer screen as 1. Set 2 to be the default screen. Or else use the CRT/LCD function (Fn) on the keyboard.

My dad is doing this, All you have to do is get a cable(im really sorry i dont know the name) but connect it to the computer and the tv and then set it to the video(That kinda stuff) and then Walla!

you have to go into the graphic cards program and set it so that the graphic card will set it to display pictures in the tv. Go to display properties and you'll find it.

first check where you hooked it up. maybe your tv has an AUX connection. just change the setting in your tv to read the AUX cable not the TV or the video. and it should pop up in your TV.
