How to I convert S-video to VGA input?

• Ill try to explain the best I can. I have a video card on my computer that allows VGA out and S-Video out. The VGA pins are broken so I would like to use the S-video port. What sort of cable/box would I need to allow S-video output and convert it to VGA for an input to my monitor. My monitor does not support s-video. I already tried buying a S-video to VGA cord but that only allowed VGA out (converted to s-video). So it was the wrong cord. Can anyone point to a product that could help me? Thanks

  The S video is a analogue signal and so is VGA. Just a different protocol. so it does have to be converted. Not sure what he means about your software not working properly. The suggested converter will do the job but google it they do come cheaper. The suggestion about a new card is also good if you do not want high performance and unless you have a laptop. You will have to compare the two ideas
