"No Signal" with DVI to VGA adapter.

DVI to VGA Adapter...need help?

  • I have a good graphics card (e-GeForce 8600 GT 512MB DDR2 PCIe Graphics Card). It has a VGA output and a DVI output. I have two monitors that uses DVI-D, but my graphic card only has 1 DVI output. If I buy an adapter, VGA to DVI, and put it on the graphic card. Will i still get the best performance from the adapter DVI as normal DVI?

  • Answer:

A VGA to DVI adapter is very expensive. We are talking $300+ dollars. A DVI to VGA adapter is the cheap one. However you would need the first because you are trying to convert an analogue signal to digital signal. Check to see if one of the monitors has a VGA input and use. If not you would need a dual DVI graphics card.
