Blue static on computer screen?

My computer screen keeps turning blue and turning itself off?

• i have a laptop and it is connected to a old computer screen that someone gave us. the screen is huge and we use it to watch movies and stuff on. but it has recently started turning blue with light blue lines running thru it and turning the screen off. the button turns yellow and blinks exactly 4 times and before it will let you turn the screen back on. you have to turn it back on manually or it will just continue to blink yellow. is there something wrong with the screen or my laptop? oh and it does it over and over and over and over. sometimes after about an hr of turning th screen back off it will stop and i can leave it on for a while until the computer goes into screen saver mode and turns off and then i have to go back to the whole process of turnng it on and it turning itself off again. very annoying!!! should i get a new screen, how do i fix this one or what should i do?

  That is exactly what happens to my computer. There really isn't anything I know you can do. I just keep restarting my computer whenever that happens.
