Why doesn't my laptop monitor turn on?

My laptop monitor light doesnt come back on after removing external monitor help?

  • Ok so yesterday I plugged in an external monitor to my laptop so i can watch a movie with it, (my laptop has a small screen so i used a bigger monitor to watch it). I had the settings so that only my external monitor would display stuff. After watching the movie i unplugged the external monitor from my laptop, and the monitor on my laptop screen wouldnt turn back on, i could still see stuff on it but have around 2% visibility. -the laptop is around 5 months old -its a gateway md2614u -im using a vga cable can someone please help me. -thank you

  • Answer:

    Plug in the external monitor and then reconfigure it for only your laptops screen. Or you could always hold the power button until it goes dark then press it again.

look at your F keys identify the one with 1 or 2 squares in a different colour press the Fn key plus this key F8 (example) you screen should spring to life or reconnect the other monitor and alter display setting to get you screen back
