Sony Vaio built in webcam not working anymore?

Webcam not working on new sony vaio?

• i just bought a new sony vaio. its model is PCG-7173L and it's running on vista. at first, the webcam was working fine. i tried it on oovoo and the program it came with, ArcSoft WebCam Companion 2. it worked fine. now, it's not working at all. oovoo cannot connect to it because it cannot find it. video chatting on aim doesn't work either. only the mic works. i tried the program it came with too, there was just a black screen so i disconnected it, hoping to connect to it again. but, all i get is the message "Camera failed to initialize, check to see if another program is using it or not connected." it HAS to be connected because it's built-in the laptop. i'm sure no other program is using it because i have uninstalled oovoo and aim temporally to see if those 2 were the problems. I have tried going to the hardwares/devices set-up to see if i can uninstall it and install it again, it cannot find it, or it is not on the list. i have tried going to the sony vaio webstie for the faqs and troubleshooting, but since my laptop is a brand new model, there is no available software to download. help please! i bought this laptop mostly because of its webcam and mic!

  So - you can't see it in the hardware list! Right click on the hardware list and scan for devices. If it doesn't appear - ring up Dell and place a warranty claim.
