Why Does Computer Screen Turn 90 Degrees?

  • Every now and then, I go to use my computer and the screen image has rotated 90 degrees. Everything on the screen works, but it's rather difficult to move the mouse around because of the changed orientation. If I do a system restore, it fixes the problem. But I'm concerned about WHY it does it, and if there's a way to stop it from happening in the future. My computer is a Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop with Windows XP Media Operating System.

    u would have set 90' as your default. just right click and turn your graphics properties. then change 90' to 0' and set default. now hereafter there wont be any change in ur system.

a shortcut commonly found on i believe computers with ati graphics cards is pressing alt + an arrow key, which switches the orientation. there should be an option to turn it off.
